You are sooooo f… talented

May 26th, 2011

Over last weekend I released a new stock flash file and the sales have been steady (thank you to all my buyers) since monday. Today though I actually got some feedback from a happy customer which I feel is a great accomplishment and thought I’d share it (see image above).

Considering I’ve sold over 5500 files you’d think I’d get more “you rock” comments, but they’re a rare treat. Thank you aweinfeld. You made my day.

How is this better?

By strange coincidence my desk at work is situated in the heart of our web dev team (well, one of them). Seeing how everything I do ends up on the web you’d think we’d all be friends (wrong). Don’t get me wrong we are friendly and we get along swell; I’m just the odd man out. See I’ve come to the conclusion that web devs hate flashers (that’s my job). Seems they foresee the apocalypse of flash on the web—which there is a decline I admit, but doing what I can do in flash in some other tech is just not quite ready for prime time yet. Take the above website. Built with HTML5 (blah blah blah) and yet I gotta have chrome to see it?! At least with flash every desktop around the world can see it. And for those mobile devices I doubt the above site would be viewable on your iPad.

Here’s the URL of the site above. I don’t know if it’s worth looking at because it gave me that warning and so I gave up. http://www.ro.me/

And I kid about the devs hating me. I know secretly they wish they were flash developers and could spend all their days timeline animating tech demos. In which case I might be willing to lay down my cursor and let them have it (timeline animation is not my fav).

More Marc Newson: Clothes

May 6th, 2011

I was just thinking of Marc Newson (as you can see with the previous post), when I stumbled across a line of cloths he’s design for G-Star 2011. You can see his love for all things space with the 2 hoodies. I’m glad to see him doing more attainable stuff—Unlike a $15K dollar watch I can afford a hoodie (though I’m sure they’re $150+).

Hourglass by Marc Newson

May 4th, 2011

I am such a hugh fan of Marc Newson. I keep telling myself one day when my side business goes “gang busters” I’ll own one of his wrist watches (ikepod.com), and now I’m adding one of these hourglasses to the list. Amazing.
