Back to the Usual Stuff

September 23rd, 2008

Back to regular life now. We landed back in town yesterday and it was a whole lot of fun to see Gem again (she stayed home). Tonight we were at our usual stuff just hanging out on the deck. Only Gem enjoyed a peach from our peach tree. We have a great life, but I can’t help but to wish I was always on vacation. Susan tells me I have post-vacation depression, but there hasn’t been much time to mope about with work demanding everything I can give it. I admit that after past vacations I’ve been known not to do much but wander about on the internet trying to get the guts to start work again, but today I just throw myself at it. I figure with Tuan coming home in a few months time I’m going to need to stock pile as much time off as possible. That’s a pretty good motivator.

Aloha From Day 4

Today is day 4 of our island retreat. It’s been extremely pleasant thus far. I’ll see if I can’t post a more exciting image, but I thought this tree would have been the perfect tree house, and I’m starting to wonder why we live in Utah more and more. Maybe it’s time to move the family to the coast.

Crazy Fast

September 18th, 2008

I’ve bombed some big hills in my day as a longboarder, but nothing like these guys. Watching this made my feet tingle like when you stand at the edge of something really high.

The video starts out kind of slow. I just fast forwarded to the part where they start rolling down hill.

“I’m Chuck Bass”

September 12th, 2008

CONFESSION: Over the summer we watched the entire first season of Gossip Girl. I know. I know. It’s not a very praise worthy show. Every episode involves underage drinking/ substance abuse and or sex. It’s so over the drama top. But all that aside one of the highlights is the one liners that get dropped every episode from Ed Westwick who plays the character Chuck Bass. One of my favs is, “I care about 3 things…Money, the pleasures money brings me, and you.” I also watch fair amount of the Olympics, but Michael Phelps nor Shawn Johnson ever said anything witty.

Shower Invite

September 11th, 2008

Web design is a pretty good gig. I really like what I do and I have a pretty diverse range of clients right now. What I don’t get to do as often as I would like is designing printed matter. Hence when my darling sister-in-law told me she was getting serious about a boy I told her I would design her wedding announcements (more like I insisted on it). Anyway with the upcoming wedding and stuff I’ve had my hands on bit of more print design than usual and I’m loving it. This is a photo of the bridal shower invite Susan and sisters are throwing.
